Light Fixture

Please ensure that the light bulbs are working. Sometimes light bulbs start flickering and the problem is with the light bulb. Even brand new bulbs may have that issue. If you have changed the light bulbs and the problem still persists please check that there is not a GFCI that has been tripped. The GFCI outlet may be in the same room or it could be located on the other side of the wall from the room you are in. Please Follow the instructions in the next section below for instructions to reset the GFCI or the Electrical Breaker Panel.

Light Switch or Electrical Outlet

Please check that the GFCI has not been tripped. Be aware that the GFCI outlet may be located on the other side of the wall from the room you are in. Click on this GFCI VIDEO that shows how to reset the GFCI. The light fixture could also be on a GFCI. If resetting the GFCI doesn't cause the electrical issue to begin working proceed to the next step.

Please go to the breaker panel box and open up the box. Visually look at every switch and ensure that they are all turned to the "on" position. If any of the switches are turned to off or in between on and off, flip the switch to "off" and then back to the "on" position, do that two times. Check and see if that fixed the issue. Click on this Breaker Panel VIDEO, that shows you how to reset the tripped circuit breaker. If this does not work to get the light fixture or electrical outlet working then you need to let us know by submitting a maintenance request. Please include a detailed description of the issue and what you did to attempt to clear the issue.

Smoke Detector

The most common reason smoke detectors chirp is that the batteries need to be replaced. Before submitting a maintenance request for a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector please change the batteries. If the smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector continues to have issues please submit a maintenance request and include that you changed the batteries and that it is still having issues.

If you are still having Electrical Issues

Submit a maintenance request through your online tenant portal. Please list all the steps that you completed and notate that none of those steps have been successful at fixing your electrical issues.
